Women’s football: Three teams qualified to the semi-finals of the national championship

Praia, Aug 6 (Inforpress) – The Atletas de Cristo, Seven Stars and Mindelense have qualified for the semi-finals of the national women’s football championships held in August 1st in the cities of Praia and of Mindelo.

At Várzea Stadium, ADEC’s victory over Calheta São Miguel (North Santiago) over the Águias Vermelhas of Fogo Island, 4-1, gave the semi-finals to the Atletas de Cristo, which won Group B1 with four points.

For Group B2, Seven Stars of Praia beat Académica do Maio 7-0 and confirmed its qualification to the semi-final after the same result in the first leg. Due to the desertion of the representative of Brava Island, the Seven Stars and Académica do Maio competed with each other the two rounds before to move to the semi-finals.

In São Vicente, in the Adérito Sena Stadium, to count for the Group A1, Mindelense beat Porto Novo Club, Santo Antão Sul by 7-0 and, with six points, goes to the final phase, after the 11-0 Paulense on round 1.

The semi-finalists will be complete this Tuesday, in the clash between Llana, from Sal Island, and the Africa Show, from Boa Vista, referring to Group A2, to be played at the Adérito Sena Stadium in São Vicente.
