Praia, Sep 3 (Inforpress) – The Spanish Cooperation is financing the renewal of the base year of National Accounts of the National Statistics Institute (INE), after the Luxembourg Cooperation sponsored the renovation of INE’s technology park.
The information was submitted to Inforpress by INE Vice-President Celso Soares who, although he did not specify the amount of this financing, said that the renewal of the base year of National Accounts “is fundamental” to current requirements, namely United Nations Agenda 20/30 and the African Agenda 20/63.
“The key objective of these agendas is not left behid the poverty eradication, gender equality and other key statistics. For this, we have to have numbers because we can not be deciding based on opinions,” he pointed out.
Conscious of the importance of statistics, said the INE vice-president, these international partners have financed the Institute’s activities because only with data can they monitor the objectives set in these development agendas.
