São Vicente: URDI’s second edition starts today in Mindelo with more than 100 national and international designers

Mindelo, Nov 30 (Inforpress) – The second edition of the Cabo Verde Craft and Design Fair (URDI) officially starts today in Mindelo and counts on the participation of more than 100 national and international designers from Spain, Portugal and Egypt.

URDI, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries (MCIC), through the Center for Crafts and Design (CNAD), aims to be, in addition to the exhibition, a space for open discussions and debates around the crafts and design in its various aspects of development.

The official opening of the event, which is in charge of the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, will take place today at 6:00 pm in Praça Nova, with the presence of the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente.

The activities, however, began this morning with the start of the cycle of talks around the theme “Local raw material, a potential to value a knowledge to reinvent”, a panel focused on the sharing of perspectives that can contribute to the discussion on the challenges of using local raw materials for handicrafts and design products.
