Pedra Badejo, Mar 19 (Inforpress) – The 2018 edition of the “1 County 3 Rhythms” thematic festival, which celebrates the three traditional rhythms, batuco, funaná and tabanka, in Santa Cruz (countryside of Santiago), takes place on the March 23rd, 24th and 25th.
According to the Councilor of Culture, Jaquelino Varela, the event that dedicates a day of Batuku, honoring Nha Nacia Gomi and the women, a funaná day honoring Katxás and Sema Lopi and a day of Tabanka, will have as the main stage this year the Largo Katxás, in Porto Acima.
According to the schedule, the first night of the contest will be dedicated to Batuco, and will feature performances from various local groups and at least one group from each county of the Santiago Island.
The event, which takes place within the scope of the “Culture Month of the City of Pedra Badejo”, is budgeted at 3 million escudos and is sponsored by Unitel T + and the City Hall of Santa Cruz and a financial support of 300 thousand escudos from the Ministry of culture.
