RMPCV estimates that by March 2019 Cabo Verde will have approved in Parliament the law of parity

Porto Novo, Aug 14 (Inforpress) – The parity law proposal in Cabo Verde will be discussed and approved by the National Assembly between January and March 2019, estimated Monday in Santo Antão the Women Parliamentarians Network of Cabo Verde (RMPCV).

Santo Antão receives on Monday and today the first meetings with the living forces of the island for the collection of contributions for the preparation of the law proposal, meetings promoted by the RMPCV within the framework of the action plan of advocacy for the parity law, which will cover all the national territory and diaspora until January next year.

According to the MP Vera Almeida, vice-president of the RMPCV, a team of consultants will already have completed the “draft” of the parity law in January, which will be submitted to Parliament for debate and approval by March 2019.

Vera Almeida explained to press that, at the moment, an action plan is being implemented to collect contributions for the preparation of the draft law, which started in January 2017 and will last until January 2019, “when we want the law to be approved”.
