President of the Republic considers the arrival of the Portuguese counterpart “something positive” for Cabo Verde


Praia, April 6 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, said today in Praia that the visit of the Portuguese Head of State, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, represents besides the political mark “something positive” for the country.

The nation’s highest magistrate who spoke to Radio of Cabo Verde (RCV) today said that the visti came within to the follow-up to the two governments’ summit, that is, the visit of the Portuguese Prime Minister, Antonio Costa, and the Cabo Verdean Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, who happened earlier.

“At the meeting they addressed very important issues for cooperation between Cabo Verde and Portugal. A cooperation since the independence of Cabo Verde that had ups and downs, but that is very good,” he noted.

For the President of the Republic, the visit of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has a political meaning, that is, it is a teaching regarding the “very benevolent” policy for Cabo Verde made in the presence of the highest Portuguese magistrate.
