Praia: Director of the central hospital acknowledges the need for staff reinforcement.

Praia, Aug 9 (Inforpress) The director of the Agostinho Neto Hospital (HAN), in the City of Praia, Júlio Andrade, acknowledged, in an interview with Inforpress, the need to strengthen human resources to satisfy an “exaggerated demand” of internal evacuations.

According to Júlio Andrade, the Praia hospital is currently receiving emergency services throughout the region of Sotavento, and still receives 75 percent (%) of evacuations from the islands of Sal and Boa Vista.

He also referred to the São Nicolau Island, saying that 50% of the evacuations are destined to Praia, which means, according to Júlio Andrade the Agostinho Neto Hospital is increasingly becoming a national hospital.

According to Júlio Andrade, Praia hospital receives an average of about three to four evacuations per day, mainly for the surgical, orthopedic and obstetrical gynecology areas.
