Praia, Feb 15 (Inforpress) – The city of Castelo Branco (Portugal) will host, on 15, 16 and 17, a set of activities included in the program of international student reception in that country, organized by the Maense Association in Portugal (AMP).
The information was put forward by the president of the AMP, Carlos Spencer Frederico, explaining that, in the face of the analysis and evaluation of the impact of the National Encounter of Cabo Verdean Students, conducted in the last two years, it was decided to extend the horizon for students of other of countries.
According to the same source, the goal is to minimize the impact of cultural clash between the country of origin and the host country, to create a spirit of unity, cooperation and solidarity among students, to improve the school integration of newcomers to cope with the cultural diversity they faces, as well as promoting harmonious coexistence among students from different cultures, races and ethnicities in an inter-multicultural context.
Among the objectives are to guide students about access to relevant services and institutions upon arrival in Portugal (SASE, SEF, embassies and other relevant services), to reflect critically on current problems, future challenges and the role of youth in this process, relevant information on residency, access to health, costs of products, expenses, transportation among others and also promote cultural sharing and exchange.
