PAICV will question the Government about the new fish market in the Port of Praia

Praia, Jan 10 (Inforpress) – The PAICV will question the Government in this month’s parliamentary session about the new fish market in the Port of Praia that is closed, while fishermen continue to work “without the minimums conditions”.

The information was advanced by the parliamentary group (GP)  leader of the African Party of the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV- party opposition), Rui Semedo, who spoke to the press, after visiting the facilities of Fisheries to verify ‘in loco’ the conditions under which fishmongers and fishermen work and contact operators in this sector.

He added that his party is going to take this issue once again to the parliamentary house to question the Government about what they intend to do with this infrastructure which constitutes a “very important” investment for the country and which has national and international funding.

According to the MP, the situation has remained the same since 2016, even though the Government has all the conditions  met to put the new fish marketing market into operation and make the space profitable.
