Municipal elected of PAICV warn for a better supervision and construction of public works in the capital

Praia, Jan 11 (Inforpress) – The PAICV’s municipal workbench in the Municipal Assembly of Praia warns for the need to better manage the inspection and construction of public works in the capital and to revise the legislative framework regarding the vacant works.

Wladmir Silves Ferreira, the PAICV’s leader (opposition party), expressed this concern to Inforpress this Thursday, after the visit to the staff of the Order of Engineers of Cabo Verde (OECV), in the neighborhood of Palmarejo, where he claimed the creation of a differentiated framework of penalization or incentive to the construction of unfinished works.

This municipal MP also criticized the “lack of a regulation that obliges the maintenance of public buildings” and affirmed that the African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV) will propose the creation of a regulation that obliges the City Hall to establish in its activity plan the regular maintenance of buildings.

On the other hand, he considered important for municipal elected representatives to have regular meetings with civil society organizations such as the OECV, in order to collect “essential inputs to the debate in the Municipal Assembly”, so that, as the alternative proposals for governance in the City Hall of Praia.
