Mosteiros: Municipality held first conference of twinned municipalities to share governance experience

Mosteiros, Aug 14 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Mosteiros promotes today, at the City of Igreja, the first conference of twinned municipalities for dialogue, exchange and sharing of experiences on local governance and promotion of social and economic development.

This conference, which is part of the Municipality Day and its patron saint Nossa Senhora da Ajuda festivities, which is celebrated on August 15, the City Hall plans to count on the presence of the municipalities of Entroncamento, Azambuja and Ansião (Portugal), Haría (Canaries) and Santa Catarina and São Filipe (Fogo).

The purpose of the meeting is to define a new model of decentralized cooperation, which should be based on the sharing of knowledge, experiences and know-how and transfer of competences in strategic areas and domains to strengthen local governance.

“More than tracing the state of the art of decentralized cooperation, this meeting aims above all at deepening it, thus opening up new horizons of cooperation, in a sui generis context, where greater collaboration is required between the main development actors, such as the government, local authorities and the private sector, said a press release from the City Hall of Mosteiros.
