Maria da Luz Mendonça is the new president of the National Institute of Public Health

Praia, Aug 16 (Inforpress) – The Government has appointed Maria da Luz Mendonça as the chairman of the board of directors of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), replacing Tomás Valdez.

Maria da Luz Mendonça, who has a degree in Medicine and a specialist in Public Health, had been the National Director of Health since 2016, and has now been replaced by Artur Correia.

The new president of the INSP has already worked in the Health Department of Praia, in planning the activities of the entity, and also director of the National Program of Tuberculosis and Leprosy, as well as director of the health centers of Achada Grande Trás, Achadinha and Tira Chapéu.

The appointment of Maria da Luz Mendonça was approved by the Council of Ministers and is already published in the Official Gazette.
