Praia, Jan 10 (Inforpress) – National Assembly President Jorge Santos will lead the Parliamentary Assembly of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which starts today in the City of Praia, succeeding the Brazilian Rodrigo Maia.
Jorge Santos will take over the leadership of the AP-CPLP, after testimony from the outgoing president, Rodrigo Maia, who heads the House of Representatives of Brazil. At the occasion, the Brazilian parliamentarian should make an intervention to take stock of his mandate.
On the eve to take over the AP-CPLP, Jorge Santos said he will propose a “new attitude” and a “turnaround” of action to relaunch the organization and transform it into a “useful and functional” community.
He also stated that the issue of mobility will be central to his mandate and promised to hold a dynamic, citizen-friendly presidency with concrete legislative action to allow free movement between countries and improve other aspects to make CPLP a functional and useful for citizens.
