Praia, Jul 24 (Inforpress) – A group of women from São Nicolau starts an action training on small business management and entrepreneurship at the headquarters of the Red Cross in the City of Ribeira Brava.
Initiative of the Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG), in partnership with the Program for the Promotion of Rural Socioeconomic Opportunity (POSER), lasts two days and aims to improve in the long term the skills and entrepreneurial skills of women from rural areas.
According to an ICIEG press release, this course is also intended to equip trainees with “resources and tools that will later contribute to adding value to the activities developed, contributing to the improvement of their economic empowerment and consequent exit from the cycle of poverty”.
Gender equality, the ICIEG explains in this letter, is a “fundamental” issue of social and economic development and the building of democracy in political, social and economic terms.
