Government should “rethink” and reformulate the country’s administrative structure – director of MCA-CV II

Praia, Apr 2 (Inforpress) – The MCA-Cabo Verde Managing Director, Helder Santos (MCA-CV II) said today that the Government should “rethink” the country’s administrative structure to facilitate the implementation of the  LAND project on other islands.

Hélder Santos was speaking to Inforpress in the city of Praia to take stock of the II second compact of the Millennium Challenge Account – Cabo Verde II, and the closing of the management unit, which concluded its work on the 29th of this month.

At the time, he added that 99.1 percent (%) of the budget was spent, that is, from 66 million dollars 230 thousand dollars was spent  65.640.000 was spent on water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and Land Management for Investment Project (LAND).

The Water and Sanitation Fund Project (FASA) invested 23 million dollars in Technical Assistance to National Institutions (NITA) and Land Registration works (LAND) about 12 million dollars respectively and approximately 2 million dollars to the Social Access Fund (FAS).

He explained that for the implementation of the Water Sanitation and Hygiene Project (WASH), 34 legislative reforms and 17 were made to the Land Management for Investment Project (LAND), being the gender and social issues always present in all activity.
