Praia, Aug 01 (Inforpress) – National team U-17 of Cabo Verde will travel to Senegal in September to play against Guinea Conakry and Mauritania to qualify for the African Cup of Nations, CAN’2019, which takes place in Tanzania, chosen by draw held in Dakar.
The CAN Football Tournament is promoted by the Union of West African Federations (UFOA) and Cabo Verde opens on September 11 against Mauritania by 9:00 PM local time (8:00 PM Cabo Verde local time), and in the 13th to play against Guinea Conakry at the same time.
According to the draw, Senegal shares Group A with its counterparts from Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone. Mali, Gambia and Liberia constitute Group B, while Cabo Verde divides Group C with the national teams of Guinea Conakry and Mauritania.
The UFOA tournament is a competition exclusively dedicated to young athletes residing in the country they represent. This is the unprecedented participation of the Cabo Verde national team in a UFOA-A Zone tournament at this level.
