Fogo: Água para Viver Association contributed to social integration in several areas in the island – responsible

São Filipe, Jan 8 (Inforpress) – The Água para Viver Association, founded in 1978 by emigrants from Fogo living in the Netherlands, has contributed for more than 40 years to the implementation of policies focused at social integration in areas such as education, health, sport and safety.

The statement was made by the president of the association, Agnelo Spínola, at the agreement signing to deliver the Ponta Verde vocational training center, built and equipped by this non-governmental organization to the State of Cabo Verde.

The Ponta Verde vocational training center, an investment of more than 50 million escudos (construction of the building and equipment for various capacities building), was inaugurated in April 2006 and worked for six years with the support of some institutions, having trained dozens young people in the areas of carpentry / joinery, electricity, aluminum, plumbing and computing technicians.

According to Agnelo Spínola, the intervention areas grew and surpassed the potential of the association, noting that its transfer to the State is a way of guaranteeing the continuity of training to the young through its operation.
