CPLP summit: Council of Ministers reiterates willingness to help Guinea Bissau overcome crisis

Santa Maria, Sal island, Jul 17 (Inforpress) – The Council of Ministers of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which met in Sal island this Monday, reiterated its willingness to help Guinea Bissau overcome the crisis situation.

According to the spokesman, the Cabo Verdean Foreign Minister, in the preparatory meeting for the Summit of the Head of State and Government of the Organization, which starts this Tuesday, in addition to the approval of the resolutions to be submitted to the summit was also analyzed  the political situation in Guinea-Bissau.

“The Minister spoke of the political situation in Guinea Bissau, which is very positive, there is political stability today. The elections have already been scheduled for November 18 and are working and we will all work to help Guinea Bissau overcome this crisis.

There is the political will of all of us to help Guinea Bissau overcome this moment that is important for the country,” he said.

Another issue analyzed during the meeting, which brought together the heads of diplomacy from all the countries that make up the community, has to do with Equatorial Guinea’s compliance with the commitments made at the time of accession. In this regard, Luís Filipe Tavares said that the most recent member of the CPLP demonstrated a “political will” to work in this direction.
