Cabo Verde hosts the first ministerial conference on tourism and air transport in Africa in April 2019

Praia, Mar 28 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde is expected to host the first ministerial conference of African Ministers of Tourism and Air Transport in Africa in April 2019, to be promoted by the regional office of the World Tourism Organization for Africa and ICAO.

It is for this purpose that the regional director of UNWTO Africa, Elcia Grandcourt, and director of the Air Transport department of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Boubacar Djibo, is meeting in the archipelago with the national authorities to analyze the conditions for the accomplishment of this continental event.

This morning the delegation held a meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Transport and Minister of Maritime Economy, José da Silva Gonçalves, in what was the first preparatory meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the minister explained that the ministerial conference follows the launch of the single market for air transport in Africa, recently launched in Addis Ababa at the meeting of heads of state and the country’s choice is due to its active participation, as a member of the UNWTO Council and with ICAO.
