Praia, Jan 4 (Inforpress) – Association for the Defense of Environment and Development (ADAD) expressed dissatisfaction, one year after the entry into force of the law that prohibits the sale and use of plastic bags in the country, because it not meet the objectives of the campaign.
In a statement to Inforpress, Aristides Reis from the ADAD said that the feeling is of “discouragement ,” although he acknowledged that the law’s entry into force was a “good government measure”.
“But, over time, we have been noticing that with the entry into force of the law there was no follow up on its application and responsible for enforcing enforcement in shopping centers and markets,” he said.
One year after the law enforcement, he pointed out, ADAD found that there was no follow-up by the responsibles to know how its application is going and how much compliance it has.
