World Literary Festival was a success – Curator

Santa Maria, July 10 (Inforpress) – The curator of the International Literary Festival, José Luís Peixoto, said on Sunday in the last day of the literary festival, held in Sal for four days, that this first edition was “a success” having even “surpassed” the imagined.

At the end of the literary event, José Luís Peixoto, as curator of the Sal World Literary Festival, said in statements to Inforpress that now is the moment of balance, to evaluate and draw lessons from the first edition of this type of project.

“For the moment, the first idea that remains, and very clear, is to have been a success and in some points even surpassed what we imagined. Still, we know that there is a part of the festival that only begins now, that is the effective contacts made … that started here and we hope to go much further. The balance is extremely positive,” he said, aware, however that in areas such as these, perfection does not exist.

José Luís Peixoto, concluded by highlighting the fact that this first edition allowed us to “verify” that it is possible to make a literary festival in Cabo Verde, there is interest and with it can build effective relationships that make things so concrete.
