TEDx arrives for the first time in Cabo Verde to connect the country with the world and the diaspora

Praia, March 13 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean capital hosts, for the first time, the TEDx, an independent and dedicated lecture program that aims to connect Cabo Verde to the world and to its diaspora.

The TED is an annual event created 26 years ago in the American state of California, bringing together leading thinkers and doers from around the world to share ideas from any area, from technologies, entertainment, and design, science, humanities, business and development.

In 2009, TED created the TEDx, local and independently organized events that bring people together to share their ideas in 18-minute talks.

In the Lusophone space, the TEDx have already been carried out in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe and Timor-Leste and now they arrive in Cabo Verde, organized by 12 young people who share a passion for technology.

“All those who are part of the team are passionate about TED, and many were born in the diaspora, as is my case, despite being a Cabo Verdean, or else they studied abroad and had contact with TED events and always dreamed of organizing this event in Cabo Verde,” said Pedro Lopes to Lusa’s agency.
