São Vicente: Belgium can strengthen investment in the island’s maritime economy

Mindelo, Apr 4 (Inforpress) – Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders visited the maritime infrastructure of São Vicente on Tuesday and expressed his country’s interest in investing in Cape Verde.

The Belgian ruler who started a four-day visit to the archipelago on Tuesday was in Porto Grande in Mindelo, in the Oceanographic Research Center and the resort of the João Évora bay, a tourist development of Belgian businessmen under construction since 2013.

Cabo Verdean Foreign Affairs and Maritime Affairs Ministers Luís Filipe Tavares and José Gonçalves, who accompanied the Belgian leader during his visit to São Vicente, both stated that Didier Reynders has a very clear idea of ​​the potential that Cabo Verde offers in terms of Maritime Economy.

Luís Filipe Tavares said that there are several Belgian companies interested in investing in Cabo Verde in the field of the sea, namely in fishing and cruise tourism.
