Mindelo, Jul 4 (Inforpress) – The Free Academy of Integrated Arts of Mindelo (ALAIM) brings to São Vicente the Brazilian teacher Emerson Trankas, an artistic resident who will teach urban dances at the Alaim Summer Art Festival (FAVA), beginning on July 16.
Emerson Trankas, according to the ALAIM director Janaína Alves, is already in Mindelo, where he will spend two months as an artistic resident of the academy, having already started work with the children of the “Bolsa de Acesso à Cultura” project (BACultura) of the Government, and with a local hip-hop group.
From the 16th, the Brazilian teacher will teach urban dances to FAVA students.
“It’s just one of the novelties we have for this year, in which we changed almost all teachers and workshops”, said Janaína Alves.
Thus, “a lot of new things” can be found in 10 workshops, circus, theater, cinema, traditional dances and urban dances, ceramics, creativity and percussion, as well as another one aimed at teaching citizenship and human rights, taught in partnership with the Djêu d’Merca program, in charge of the social activist Alveno Soares.
