Porto Novo, Nov 17 (Inforpress) – The Government expects to “start construction of the second stage of the road to Tarrafal de Monte Trigo in Santo Antão, in an estimated investment of 400 million escudos.
“Let’s briefly start the road. The tender has already been launched and within three months the works will start,” said the Minister of Infrastructure, Land Planning and Housing, Eunice Silva, during a visit to Porto Novo, Santo Antão.
Eunice Silva explained that it will be a two-lane, paved road that will facilitate access to Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, an infrastructure long awaited by this community, with great potential in agriculture, tourism and fishing.
This road, which connects Chã de Escudela to Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, stretches for 12 kilometers, is financed by the World Bank, a financial institution that financed the first stage of the same road between Campo Redondo and Chã de Escudela ((six kilometers) in 119 million escudos, completed in May 2016.
