Assomada, Aug 29 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG) proposes to restructure the Rede Sol in Santa Catarina (Santiago Island), so that more rapid responses can be provided to victims of Violence Based in Gender (GBV).
“This network [Rede Sol] has existed since 2004. We have suffered a slowdown due to the mobility of personnel and at the moment we are doing this restructuring at the national level, because, Rede Sol is a network that has had many positive results and allows to make a integrated work and quickly responding to the victims”, said ICIEG national coordinator Kátia Marques.
Kátia Marques spoke on Tuesday to Inforpress in the margin of a meeting to revive and revitalize Rede Sol (Assistance Network to Victims of VBG) of Assomada, with the partners, which was attended by gender councilor, Jassira Monteiro and the coordinator of the Support Center for Victims (CAV), Nascimento Fortes.
As she explained, it is in this sense that this meeting was held with partners since 2004, especially the National Police (PN), the Attorney General’s Office, the Cabo Verdean Child and Adolescent Institute (ICCA), the Ministry of Education, NGOs and individuals with a view to working in an integrated way, and thus to better respond to the needs of the victims of GBV.
