Espargos, Jun 12 (Inforpress) – The Cultural Center of Santa Maria, Sal Island, will host the 6th edition of the National Theater Festival, called “Sal Encena”, this Thursday, involving 35 actors from different islands of the archipelago, that will sheltering the local stages until Sunday.
The event, promoted by the Dja d’Sal Theater Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, under the theme “Teatre sabim na dja d’Sal” will unfold in Santa Maria and Espargos, toasting the public with a total of 17 shows.
The program includes activities that have been taking place for a week with the exhibition of the plastic artist, Bento Oliveira, continuing with workshops in the schools. The official opening takes place on the 14th.
In statements to Inforpress about this year’s schedule, Victor Silva, promoter of the event and leader of the Dja d’Sal Theater Group, highlights the participation of children’s theater that will have an extension in Santo Antão, and a cycle of storytellers in all the schools of Sal – Santa Maria, Palmeira, Pedra de Lume and Espargos, among hall shows.
Participating in this 6th edition of the National Theater Festival, groups of four islands of the country, namely Santiago, Mindelo, Maio and São Nicolau, and two foreign groups, Brazil and Portugal, invited to this “Sal Encena” party 2018.
