Sal: City Hall formalizes agreement to host the 2019 African Beach Games

Espargos, Mar 14 (Inforpress) – The City Hall formalized Tuesday the agreement that establishes joint responsibilities between the City Hall of Sal, the African Olympic Committee (ACNOA) and the Cabo Verdean Olympic Committee (COC), to carry out of the first African Beach Games 2019.

The tripartite partnership document was signed at the end of this morning by the mayor Júlio Lopes and the president of the Cabo Verdean Olympic Committee, Filomena Fortes, in the presence also of COJAP executive secretary, Yann Graven, who is in the country to analyze the conditions of the island and make a survey of the real needs to host the games under consideration.

The 1st African Beach Games 2019, which are expected to bring a lot of expectation, will bring to the country, more specifically to the tourist island, about 1.000 athletes and 500 officials from 54 African countries.

As the host city of the sporting event Sal will be responsible for monitoring and providing logistical and material support to the organization of the event and will ensure coordination at the local level.
