PR considered the topics under discussion at the 26th Regional Assembly of the Francophonie as “important” for Africa

Praia, May 17 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic today considered the topics under discussion in the Regional Assembly of the Francophonie as “pertinence” and of great “importance” for Africa, in terms of country participation.

Jorge Carlos Fonseca made these considerations when speaking at the opening ceremony of the 26th Regional Assembly of the Francophonie that takes place in the city of Praia today, May 18th, with the participation of 19 delegations from 19 countries and guests from the francophone countries of Canada and Europe.

“The main topics proposed for reflection are of great importance and it is my deep conviction that from this conclave important recommendations will be made to our governments in order to enable them to develop in terms of each our countries the policies leading to the prevention or reduction of the problems that afflict us,” he said.

Jorge Carlos Fonseca, who considered the migratory crisis to be the most painful and affecting all, acknowledged that this situation is largely a result of the great regional inequalities that exist on the face of the earth, and therefore urged all to question the measures which have been designed and adopted policies that prevent or reduce the causes of this tragedy.
