Praia, Jul 26 (Inforpress) – Foreign Minister Luís Filipe Tavares assured in the parliament today that Cabo Verde is negotiating with 15 countries for facilitated mobility, estimating the conclusion of negotiations for 2019 and 2020.
Luís Filipe Tavares clarified questions from the PAICV MPs (opposition party) who questioned the announcement of the visa waiver to Norway and Switzerland, but was denied by the Swiss diplomatic mission in Dakar.
The official revealed that Cabo Verde is negotiating with all Schengen states, but also with other countries such as Sao Tome and Principe, Russia and Argentina.
“We will sign a visa-free agreement with Sao Tome and Principe in the next few days. We are finalizing a visa facilitation agreement with Argentina for various categories of passports and we will sign with Russia”, he announced, ensuring that there will be more than 15 countries with which Cabo Verdeans will be able to see their mobility facilitated.
Luís Filipe Tavares also added that normally when you are negotiating visa facilitation with countries these are for short stays up to 90 days and agreements are negotiated gradually.
