Praia, Jan 31 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries (MCIC), Education and the Camões Institute signed a tripartite agreement this Tuesday in the City of Praia, which aims to implement the “School Libraries” project.
The agreement was signed by the curator of the National Library of Cabo Verde (BNCV), Maria Fátima Fernandes, representing the Ministry of Culture, the Director of Planning, Budget and Management of the Ministry of Education, José Marques and the president and ambassador of IP, Luís Faro Ramos.
This project, according to the agreement to which Inforpress had access, has the objective of making available to school communities in the Elementary Education, school libraries, “so that they are appealing spaces and provided with methods and resources of social learning and acquisition of habits of reading”.
According to the curator of the BNCV, Maria Fátima Fernandes, reading represents a fundamental value for social, human, economic and cultural development, reason why she argues that all parties are committed to combat literacy.
