Porto Inglês, Aug 27 (Inforpress) – The GAStagus Group (Portugal) today concluded another mission of cooperation with the Congener of Maio, Pro-Morro, for a month, taking a good image of the island.
In a conversation with Inforpress, the group coordinator, Maria Santos, informed that during the stay on the island, they performed various actions such as leadership, motivation, sports activities and focusing on health and the issue of alcoholism.
“We noticed that there is improvement in people who, in 2016 and 2017, had very high levels of hypertension and glycemia, although it is too early to measure the impact of our work on Maio Island in these three years”, he said.
Laura Saraiva, an environmental engineering student, said that in this first trip to the island, she had the opportunity to work on the cultural issue, highlighting the theater, preparing some plays, which were presented at Sete Sois Sete Luas center, she said she felt “gratified” with the work she helped to accomplish.
“The image I carry is a return ticket one day to this island, because it really is very beautiful and with a people that greets people with a lot of affection. Therefore, I am delighted with the beauty of Maio Island and the kindness of its people, and after the return I will encourage my colleagues, friends and family to come visit the island and discover this paradise”, she noted.
