Praia, Dec 1 (Infropress) – The president of the Network of People Living with HIV, Daniel Delgado, today considered the introduction of the antiretroviral in Cabo Verde as the greatest achievement of people living and cohabiting with AIDS.
Daniel Delgado made this assessment when speaking at the commemoration of World AIDS Day, which marks December 1 and this year on the slogan “CCS-SIDA, 15 years to add victories over HIV-AIDS.”
“With this drug the life expectancy for HIV patients has increased and we live and cohabit with the disease in a more dignified way, because with the drug we have also been able to reduce the risk of developing diseases like Tuberculosis and Pneumonia,” he said.
According to the president of the Network of People Living with HIV, the country, people and the Network have achieved significant gains since 2004 to this part with better care and medicines to deal with HIV status.
