Praia, Jul 27 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister announced today that Icelandair has already submitted a proposal for the acquisition of 51% of the Cabo Verdean airline and TACV will be privatized as planned.
“Unlike the misinformation put into circulation, Icelandair did not abandon TACV. Since the management contract is finished, we move on to the next stage, which is the privatization negotiation. Icelandair has already submitted a proposal for the acquisition of 51% of the TACV. TACV will be privatized as planned”, said Ulisses Correia e Silva in his address on the state of the Nation.
The head of Government clarified that “the time lag between the end of the wet lease contracts, which led to the return of the two Icelandair aircraft, and the arrival of new aircraft was not due to lack of payments and lack of credibility of TACV as it did in early 2016”.
He said that while the arrested Boeing has never returned and the remaining aircraft have been compromised, leaving TACV without aircraft (during the previous governance), today two Boeings are flying, and a third is due to arrive soon and business development will make the company be equipped with more aircraft.
