Praia, Jul 30 (Inforpress) – Former NBA basketball player of Cabo Verdean descent, Charles Smith, served a 3-day visit to Cabo Verde at the invitation of the Cabo Verdean Basketball Federation on Sunday, within the promotion of Cabo Verdean basketball at the international level.
The 2.08-meter pole began his basketball career at Pittsburghe University, having represented the American team at the 1986 FIBA World Championships in which he won the gold medal.
Smith was also at the 1988 Olympics, in which he helped the United States win the bronze medal.
In this passage through the Cabo Verdean soil, Charles Smith made contacts with the sports facilities and attended the “Regional Association Tournament”, held at the Vavá Duarte Sports Pavilion in the City of Praia, won by the “All Stars” team consisting of international cabo verdians who play in foreign clubs.
