São Filipe, Aug 06 (Inforpress) – The Maria Chaves Vineyard and Monte Barro winery, properties of the Solidarity and Development Association (ASDE), launches the “Passarinha wine” on August 7th.
According to ASDE, it is a white wine from Fogo, harvest of 2017, with a greenish tinge, with an intense aroma of tropical fruits and a touch of herbs (mint, lemon balm).
“In the mouth, the wine is juicy, with an intense fruity character and excellent balance between body, acidity and persistence”, says the same source, adding that the Passarinha can be enjoyed as an aperitif and to accompany dishes such as “sushi” and cheese.
Vinha Maria Chaves, a project started in 2004/5, presented its first wines, named after the islands, Sanvicente (rosé wine), Santa Luzia (white wine), Santiago (red wine with a lower percentage of alcohol) and Sanfilipe (red wine with a higher percentage of alcohol), and later put the Pico do Fogo wine on the market and will now release the Passarinha wine.
