São Filipe, Jul 12 (Inforpress) – Farmers, especially in the traditional agricultural areas of the island, are finalizing preparations for the 2018/19 agricultural harvest, but complain about the “high” price of some seeds.
Information collected by Inforpress shows that the locality of Cutelo Alto, upper Mosteiros, after the first rains, some peasants began the agricultural work expected rain in greater quantity in the coming days.
In the northern area of São Filipe and Mosteiros, the rural men are cleaning their plots and opening of planting hole to facilitate the sowing process, once the first rains fall in sufficient quantity to germinate the seeds.
Others are considering the possibility of dry sowing from the second half of July, which could be a risk if the rains are not enough to germinate the seeds.
