São Filipe, Aug 24 (Inforpress) – The “Fogo, Água, Terra, Ar” (FATA) project in Chã das Caldeiras, Fogo Island, provides training in customer service and promotion of small tourist enterprises in the area.
The action falls within the scope of this project, which is co-financed by the European Union (EU), and aims to strengthen the capacities of tour operators in Chã das Caldeiras, the main tourist resort in Fogo Island due to its active volcano and the landscapes.
For the project, Chã das Caldeiras represents a cultural heritage not only to Fogo Island but also for the entire Cabo Verde, that’s why it is necessary to encourage a culture of valorization and protection of this territory.
The training, according to the project’s community mobilizer, Elisandra Lopes, is part an agreement recently signed between the FATA project and the Tourism Fund, which has paid great attention to the sustainable development of Chã das Caldeiras.
