Praia, March 30 (Inforpress) – The Cidade Velha, Ribeira Grande de Santiago, hosts until April 1 the 5th Diocesan Youth Forum 2017, an event involving more than 200 young people from the 24 parishes of the Diocese of Santiago in Cabo Verde.
According to the parish priest of the Santo Nome de Jesus, Antonio Fernandes, the forum is attended by young people from the Brava, Fogo, Santiago and Maio islands and is part of the Diocesan Youth Week, which is being “lived” in all Diocese parishes, since March 27th.
Under the theme “I came so that all may have life in abundance,” the Fifth Diocesan Youth Forum 2017 is an initiative of the Diocesan Youth Secretariat of the Diocese of Santiago, and centers on the theme “The Almighty has done wonderful things for me” chosen by Pope Francis.
The priest Antonio Fernandes said to Inforpress that this event is intended to lead young people to reflect on life, faith and the Christ, so that they feel the church as the mother who welcomes all and needs the youth, in a way to walk with the young so that the youth will know more and more to value life, as a grace and a gift of God.
