The information was forwarded by the mayor, José Nunes Soares, who, at the invitation of the Tarrafal Association in Rotterdam, made a visit from October 21 to 24, accompanied by Ricardo Rodrigues, Councilor for Planning, Urban Planning and Works.
According to José Soares, who spoke this Thursday, in a press conference, to take stock of the visit, the challenge has already been launched and took over.
The mayor says he believes that at the beginning of 2018, the Pro-Tarrafal Nucleus will be created so that the Tarrafal emigrants can “do much more for them, their integration, and also help their homeland, Tarrafal.”
Aside from that, he indicated that migrants pointed out their difficulties, constraints, problems, but also gave suggestions, made “constructive” criticism, and showed that they are committed to participate in the growth and development of that municipality in the countryside Santiag Island.
