Customs in Praia, Sal and Boa Vista now have high-tech baggage scanner devices and containers

Praia, Aug 13 (Inforpress) – Customs in Praia, Sal and Boa Vista airports now have high-tech baggage screening devices and a mobile container scanner as part of the process of modernizing customs in the country.

Funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, at 58.850.000 yuan (about 10 million US dollars), the project also has an image control center, which will link scanners nationwide from the Customs of Praia, capable of improving the control of goods in the customs territory.

Built by a Chinese high-tech company, the equipment offered was presented as high-quality intellectual products and “the most advanced in the world, with a high demand for automation and computerization and widely used in dozens of countries”.

The formal delivery of this equipment was held today at the Nelson Mandela International Airport in Praia, where Deputy Minister and Finance Minister Olavo Correia praised the excellence of these devices in promoting “more ease, speed and safety in airport processing “, through high technologies.
