CPLP Summit: Work Agenda allows finding ways to solve common problems – PR

Santa Maria, Jul 18 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic believes that the 12th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which started Tuesday in Sal, allows finding ways to resolve problems.

“The work agenda that we have just adopted and which we will analyze is, in my view, of the greatest relevance for all of us, since it proposes to find ways or possible solutions in solving problems that are common to us and affect all of us”, said Jorge Carlos Fonseca, at the opening ceremony of the 12th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the CPLP, which will run until Wednesday in the city of Santa Maria.

In his speech, stressing the mobility issue that, as I said, has been under discussion for several years, Jorge Carlos Fonseca said he hoped that it would be possible to achieve “significant progress” during this summit, emphasizing, on the other hand, the importance of culture and oceans, themes proposed for this rotating CPLP presidency that Cabo Verde has took over today.

“Full mobility in our space is one of the greatest challenges of the CPLP. The task, we know it’s difficult, however, it is our duty to do everything so that one day we can freely move in this space that is common”, he said.

“I hope, therefore, that our efforts will be intensified and our intelligence and creativity will be illuminated during the presidency we take over today, and on the day we are handing over the reins of the presidency to another country, we can be proud of the way we have gone” he hoped, admitting, however, that one can only compensate for the difficulties of the matter with “more work, more effort, more creative ingenuity”.
