CMSD builds interpretive center to preserve the municipality’s history and Cabo Verde

Praia, March 16 (Inforpress) – The Municipality of Sao Domingos (CMSD) will build an interpretive center to preserve the municipality’s history and Cabo Verde and to signal the memory circuits in honor of those who have passed through it.

The announcement was made by the mayor, Clemente Garcia, who highlighted the importance of the historical dimension as one of the tourist potential in the county.

The mayor stressed that the history of Cabo Verde began in Sao Domingos, concretely in Alcatrazes, Baia de Nossa Senhora da Luz, which, as he said, welcomed the captain’s northern seat when the Cabo Verdean archipelago was discovered.

“Today, it is urgent to rescue its memory, so we intend to build an interpretive center, with the purpose of preserving its memory. Still in this chapter, the process of signaling memory circuits in honor of Charles Darwin, Francis Drake, Jacques Cassard and others that have passed through the municipality of Sao Domingos is underway,” said Clemente Garcia.
