Cabo Verde has already completed five of the main reports in arrears in relation to international organizations – Minister of Justice

Praia, July 17 (Inforpress) – Janine Lélis, Minister of Justice and Labor, announced today that the country has already completed five of the “main reports” to international organizations and now it’s missing to complete since 1993 the Report of Torture.

“The five reports already completed are in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for translation,” said the minister, who made these statements in the margins of a workshop on international labor standards and constitutional obligations of the International Labor Organization (ILO), which took place today at Praia.

According to Janine Lélis, the Government’s goal is towards the hotel sector, where there will be a “greater impact”.

“There was an amendment to the labor law, which came into force on October 1, 2016, and employers, perhaps, are not yet aware that the amendments have come to reinforce what is the security of the legal bond,” said the minister and regrets that “there is a frequent, especially in the islands of Sal and Boa Vista, of a systematic dismissal of the worker to prevent them from fulfilling the five years that confer on them the right to stability at work.”
