Praia, Aug 20 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde will have technical support from Brazil in the preparation of projects for the desalination of brackish water for agriculture and for the treatment and reuse of wastewater, informed the president of the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANAS).
According to Miguel Ângelo da Moura, this commitment was made during his participation in the meeting of the Directors General of Water Resources of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which took place on July 30 and 31 in Lisbon, Portugal.
The meeting culminated in the formalization of the Network of Directors General of Water Resources of CPLP, which will focus in help countries meet the Sustainable Development Objective with regard to water and sanitation.
The network should also monitor and support the progressive realization of human rights, water and sanitation and promote cooperation and technical assistance between water administrations in the Member States of the Community.
It is within this network that, according to Miguel da Moura, Brazil will provide technical support to develop desalination projects and irrigation programs and to seek financing for project implementation.
