ADAD brings together MPs and partners to discuss good fisheries governance


Praia, July 14 (Inforpress) – The Association for Defense of Environment and Development (ADAD) gathered in Praia today national and municipal MP and other partners in a workshop to discuss good fisheries governance.

According to the president of ADAD, Januário Nascimento, the event is part of the activities of the sub-regional project for the Promotion of Political Governance of Marine Resources Management and Poverty Reduction in the Wamer Ecoregion (Go-Wamer).

The Wamer Ecoregion, which includes several countries, namely Cabo Verde, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea and Sierra Leone is financed by the European Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and its execution in Cabo Verde is in charge of the Government and its partners, such as ADAD.

During the workshop, there were tastings of fishery products and delivery of materials to fish seller, in partnership with the Network of Journalists for the Environment (REJA) and the Network of Journalists for Sustainable Fisheries in West Africa (REJOPRAO).
